who we are
We believe meaningful art should not require burning the candle at both ends or putting the rest of your life on hold. Founded by Chicago-based artists and parents Kyle and Nicole, Narrow Victory was built from firsthand experience balancing creative ambition with the realities of everyday life. A love for theatre does not disappear when time becomes limited, and we believe powerful storytelling can thrive within the natural rhythms of daily life.

Our work relies less on elaborate sets and spectacle and more on the strength of the ensemble, the imagination of the audience, and the honesty of the story being told. We prioritize minimalist design, flexible rehearsal models, and focused performances that respect the time and energy of both artists and audiences, without sacrificing depth or ambition. The result is theatre that is intentional, intimate, and deeply human.
What may appear light or simple on the surface often carries emotional weight beneath it. This is where we believe theatre is most alive. When art is approachable, it becomes honest. When it is honest, it builds connection between artists, audiences, and the communities they share.
Parents, caregivers, healthcare workers, travelers, and career professionals are just a few of the people who still crave connection through art. Too often, traditional theatre models make that connection feel out of reach. We aim to change that by producing one-acts, solo pieces, and experimental two-acts that are accessible to attend and sustainable to create.
