The Artist Roster is for creative opportunities and invitations to take part. It’s separate from the newsletter, with only occasional overlap. Joining the roster doesn’t sign you up for this list.

A few good questions.
HOW LONG IS A DEVELOPMENT NIGHT?
Usually 2–3 hours. We start promptly and end on time or early. We know you have a life to get back to.
WHEN AND WHERE DO YOU MEET?
Usually on Chicago’s northwest side, around Six Corners. We choose spaces with budget and participants’ accessibility in mind. Weeknights, weekend days, weekend nights: timing varies to fit availability. We schedule Development Nights roughly three weeks ahead so you can plan.
HOW OFTEN?
We’re aiming for a Development Night every other month, with room to adjust based on demand. Readings will be a regular part of what we do. Larger projects grow out of the group’s enthusiasm for the material. Our last production met once a week; each project has its own schedule.
CAN I JUST COME TO ONE READING?
Please do. A single reading doesn’t commit you to a larger project. Joining the roster doesn’t either, and there’s no audition to join.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
An open mind, a good attitude, and a willingness to try things. Bring a scene, a draft, or whatever enthusiasm you have for acting, writing, directing, or making something together. Unfinished is welcome. Larger projects may need preparation; we’ll talk through expectations together.
DOES IT COST ANYTHING? IS THERE PAY?
Joining the Artist Roster and participating in Development Nights are currently free. Donations are appreciated, never required. the Studio’s instructional workshops and coaching are separate paid offerings, with prices or rates confirmed before booking. You do not need to take a paid class to join the roster or a Development Night. For public productions, compensation is currently an agreed-upon percentage of ticket sales.
WHAT IF MY AVAILABILITY CHANGES?
Things happen. Just give us notice and be honest about what you can do. We want to work with you, not against you.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I JOIN THE ROSTER?
Someone personally reviews your information. You’ll hear from us through general invitations and individual outreach when something feels like a fit. Roster communications are separate from the newsletter, with only occasional overlap.
